How long does my listing stay active?
Your listing stays active for 90 days or until sold. Once you reach the 90 day period, you will have 30 days to renew free of charge. Once the 30 day renewal grace period is over, your listing will have expired and you would need to pay in order to list your vehicle again.
Does my listing include a vehicle history report?
PrivateAuto allows you to AutoCheck in the ownership info section of the vehicle listing. The entire process is only accessible to the buyer and seller, which prevents the risk of identity theft.
The buyer is given important information about the vehicle such as accident history, previous accidents/damages, title history, previous owners, mileage, service history, the vehicles market value, and recalls. All this information helps the buyer decide if the vehicle is worth the asking price.
As for the seller, providing a Vehicle History Report not only gives the potential buyer an idea as to why you’re asking the price that you are, but it also shows the potential buyer that you’re an upfront and trustworthy seller. This can really have an impact on how quickly your car gets sold.
Does it cost me anything to renew my listing?
Renewing your 90 day listing is absolutely free as long as it is done within 30 days! If you do not renew your listing within the 30 day period, you will need to re-list your vehicle as a new listing.
Listings need to be renewed after 90 days so that each listing on PrivateAuto remains current. This is a huge benefit for both the buyer and seller. Buyers will know that each vehicle that is listed on PrivateAuto is really up for sale and ready to be bought, while sellers know that their vehicle is on a site that isn’t being over saturated with outdated listings.
Does PrivateAuto take a percentage of each car sale?
Can I list ATV's, boats, RV's and motorcycles on PrivateAuto?
Yes. ATV’s, OHV’s, and motorcycles can be listed on PrivateAuto now. We are in the process of adding more features so any motorized vehicle with a valid VIN or HIN can be listed on PrivateAuto.
Can I edit a listing?
Yes a listing can be updated and edited at any time throughout the lifetime of the listing.
Can I share my listing on other listing sites?
Yes, each listing has a unique shareable url and QR code. You can easily share your listing with potential buyers or provide your url on other advertising websites.
What if my car doesn't sell through PrivateAuto, will I still be charged the closing fee?
No, we only charge if the deal closes on our app.
When will the closing fee be charged?
We trigger the charge as soon as the funds have been transferred from buyer to seller and the deal closes on our app.
Can I split the listing fee with the buyer?
Yes, we will always charge the sellers card on file during the closing, but if the buyer would like to chip in on the fee, they can increase the amount they are transferring to the seller by whatever amount both parties agree upon.
